Varicose Vein Treatment And Spider Vein Treatment Options
Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT®)
Metro Vein Center is one of the leading (and most experienced) Metro Detroit vein centers providing EndoVenous Laser Treatment (EVLT, also know as EVLA, ELVeS, EVA). EVLT is an FDA-approved treatment for varicose veins, requires only local anesthesia and can usually be performed in 45-minutes in the office. A small laser fiber is inserted into the faulty vein, where laser energy is directed causing the vein to seal shut. Patients can usually resume normal activity within 24 hours – with little to no pain. EVLT is much less traumatic than vein surgery, and has been shown to have higher efficacy.
Ambulatory Phlebectomy
Ambulatory phlebectomy entails treatment of varicose veins by making tiny incisions around bulging veins so that they can be directly removed. Phlebectomy can be performed in the office and offers excellent cosmetic results with little discomfort. Ambulatory Phlebectomy is also known as mini-phlebectomy.
Duplex ultrasound
Dr. Wazni and Dr. Meslemani use ultrasound to examine problem veins sub-dermally (below the surface of the skin). This technology is painless, non-invasive, and allows our physicians to see the veins and the blood flow within the veins. Equipped with this information, the doctors determine if you have vein disease, the severity of the condition, and then develop an appropriate vein treatment plan.
Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is considered the gold standard treatment for spider veins and, in the right hands, is a very safe and effective procedure. Sclerotherapy involves the direct injection of spider veins with a chemical solution called a sclerosant. This solution causes the spider veins to safely close down and eventually get reabsorbed into the body. Multiple sclerotherapy sessions may be required to achieve full clearance of all veins and a complete, cosmetic result.
Larger veins may be treated with ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy. With this procedure, ultrasound is used to visualize deeper veins, which insures proper needle placement needed for injection of sclerosant. Ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy is often used in combination with foamed (i.e., mixed with air) sclerosants.
Transdermal Laser Treatment
This above surface skin treatment is a pulsed laser light therapy used for treating spider veins. Through the use of a laser, the procedure heats the veins (from the outside). Light beams are pulsed directly onto the veins in order to close them off and cause them to be dissolved.
Vein Surgery (Ligation & Stripping)
Treatment for varicose veins used to be limited to ligation or stripping. Due to advances in technology and success of treatment using new procedures, use of vein surgery (ligation and stripping) as become limited. Minimally invasive treatment, such as EVLT® , has become the effective standard for treatment. Metro Vein Centers of Detroit does not provide vein surgery. We do not perform vein surgery at the Metro Vein Center, we do however specialize in the latest non-invasive solution EVLT®.

TITAN Infrared Facial and Body Skin Tightening

Photofacial Rejuvenation
Photofacial rejuvenation is a unique process to achieve healthy vibrant looking skin. A YAG laser is used to provide non-surgical facial rejuvenation, reducing the effects of age and sun damage. This laser treatment gently warms the skin and there is minimal recovery time, and virtually no downtime.
Freckle & age spot removal
Achieved using a non-invasive laser or pulsed light treatment. The same approach can be used to minimize brown spots and freckles.
